My first experience of acupuncture was in Australia in my teenage years after loosing my voice. I remember watching with amazement as the doctor painlessly inserted needles into the back of my hands. The next day, the peace and quiet was over and my voice was back.

In my 20s I found myself ready for a change and took the steps to head to London for a year or two. Back then I was working in IT and found a job in the city for a bank. Life was good for a while, travelling and meeting lots of people, working and enjoying the good times that London brings. But my body was telling me a different story

Progressively I was finding more and more days where I needed to take time off work due to digestive problems including severe cramps and bloating. I went down the medical path which took me round and round in circles. The net result being through numerous medications and investigations to be told it was IBS. My GP was suggesting anti-depressants as the next step for treatment.

Really?? Surely that wasn't the next step? So I took my health into my own hands (knowing it wasn't anything sinister) and changed my diet and lifestyle - and had acupuncture!  It was not a quick fix by anymeans and certainly not easy. But by reading and educating myself and through the acupuncture tuning in to my own body and what it really needed I came through the other side.

This also lead me to reflect on what I really wanted from my life and the absolute realisation that the work I was doing was really not healthy for me - and so I went back to school to learn about this amazing medicine and health system of acupuncture.

I studied at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and gained a first class  BSc(Hons) Acupuncture from the University of Portsmouth.  Since graduating I have done additional training in women's health including Fertility, Gynaecology & IVF Support. I completed training to  become and Integrated Fertility Coach which I combine with the acupuncture sessions.

Through volunteer and other work in the Charity Sector I have also have extensive experience in supporting patients with cancer, neurological conditions and other life limiting illnesses. I've seen the amazing impact that acupuncture can have in an integrated medical environment to really help on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

I have a special interest in women's health including fertility, pregnancy & menopause - in addition to all those other times in our lives where we feel taken over by our hormones and want to get back on an even keel.

Acupuncture is more than the needles in the session - I love the overall philosophy of lifestyle, diet, exercise advice that comes alongside the treatments. I truly don't know where I would be if I hadn't found this amazing support when I did.

I'd love to work with you and see how acupuncture can help to relieve your symptoms. If you'd like to know more about my story or how acupuncture can help. You can book your appointment below. I'm also more than happy to schedule some time where we can talk on the phone about your personal circumstance and see whether this may be right for you.
